Today I am going to be talking about the Anamotny of OOTD posts!
One of the things that I love about Emily's blog is her Outfit of the Day posts and instagram photos!
Right, Dont you?... I would die for her closet so cute, so preppy, so stylish!
Ok so now that we agree we love Emily's actual clothes lets talk about the pictures!
I am going to be using some of my favorite bloggers as examples for two reasons.
1. I am def. more comfortable behind the camera
2. It has rained NON-STOP in Texas this week and going outside to take OOTD pics was out of the question unless I wanted to look like a wet frizzy dog! Not cute.
So thanks Jessica,Lauren and Emily for letting me steal your cuteness!
1. Location, Location, LOCATION
![]() |
| Jessica (my blog bff) always picks the best locations to take her OOTD pictures. Great neutral backgrounds that are still interesting and full of texture! |
2. Angle
![]() |
| Lauren does OOTD so well. This picture is an example of changing her body angle to highlight her outfit! |
Changing angles is key to not only having great OOTD pictures but also having some variety in your posts! Clothes look different depending on how you stand in your picture (kind of like the "hanger" effect) play around and decide how you like to stand while wearing pants or a skirt or shorts. Whether you change your body or change the camera angle angel can add a level of dimension that was otherwise lacking in regular "stand there and smile" pictures!
3. Light
![]() |
| Emily always has the right idea when it comes to light! Here she uses natural light from a window to make sure even her instagram photos do her and her wonderful clothes justice! |
Natural light is a must. Whether you step outside or take your
picture inside lighting is key. When taking your picture outside your back
should be against the sun, it cuts down on shadows and that not so cute squinty
eye thing! Inside you get as close as possible to a natural light source as
possible; a window, door, etc.,. The more natural the light the more natural you
and your clothes will look!
So grab your cutest clothes a camera and some sass! I want to see some fabulous OOTD pictures from you fashionable ladies! Maybe I'll even get a little courage to step out in front of the camera!
Do yall have any tips for OOTD posts?
Come over say Hi I'd love to have you!
